The terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (IS) is today a shadow of its once-formidable self in the Middle East, with its army in tatters and its territories reduced to a sliver of turf.
But the IS ideology — which includes the setting up of a caliphate — is far from dead and buried.
